Retail

Infrastructure that flexes as fast as demand does.

TechKTM builds the commerce platforms, forecasting systems and unified inventory infrastructure that let retailers respond to demand shifts in days rather than planning cycles.

The state of technology in retail

Retail demand moves weekly; retail infrastructure has traditionally been sized annually. The result is capacity that's wasted for eleven months and inadequate in the twelfth, and forecasting that works well until the moment conditions change.

The second structural problem is inventory visibility. Stock exists in stores, distribution centres and in transit, tracked by systems that update on different cycles. Promising a customer availability the business can't actually honour is a direct margin and reputation cost.

Both problems are solvable with the same underlying investment: real-time operational data on elastic infrastructure, with forecasting that updates continuously rather than quarterly.

What we most often see

Peak demand against fixed-capacity infrastructure

Seasonal and promotional peaks that either degrade customer experience or require year-round over-provisioning.

Inventory visibility fragmented across channels

No single reliable view of available stock, producing failed fulfilment promises and unnecessary markdowns.

Forecasting that lags actual demand

Planning driven by historical averages that break down precisely when conditions shift.

Disconnected customer data across touchpoints

Online, in-store and service interactions held separately, preventing coherent personalisation.

How TechKTM helps

Elastic commerce infrastructure

Cloud architecture that scales automatically through peaks and scales back down afterwards, with cost visibility throughout.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Unified inventory and customer data

A real-time data layer that reconciles stock and customer identity across channels and systems.

Data & Analytics

Demand forecasting and pricing intelligence

Models that update continuously on current signal, supporting replenishment and markdown decisions.

AI & Intelligent Automation

Commerce platform engineering

Custom storefront, fulfilment and integration components where off-the-shelf platforms constrain differentiation.

Retail: common questions

Can you handle peak trading events?

Yes — capacity planning, load testing and autoscaling architecture designed against your actual peak profile, validated well ahead of the trading event rather than during it.

Do you work with existing commerce platforms?

We integrate with and extend the major commerce platforms rather than pushing replacement. Replatforming is warranted occasionally, but it's an expensive default.

How quickly can forecasting improve?

Where clean historical sales and inventory data exists, a first forecasting model in production typically takes 10–14 weeks. Where the data needs work first — which is common — that comes first, and we'll say so upfront.
