Cloud & Infrastructure

Cloud architecture that scales with the business, not the invoice.

TechKTM designs, migrates and operates cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud — engineered for the load you'll actually have, with cost controls built in from the start rather than discovered in a budget review.

Lift-and-shift is where most cloud programmes lose their business case

The most common cloud migration outcome is a datacentre running on someone else's hardware at higher cost. Applications get moved without being re-architected, so none of the elasticity, managed services or operational advantages materialise — but the bill arrives monthly anyway.

The second common outcome is uncontrolled spend. Without tagging discipline, rightsizing and automated policy, cloud costs grow faster than the workloads that justify them, and finance starts asking hard questions the engineering team can't answer.

We treat migration as an opportunity to fix the architecture, not just change its address — and we build cost visibility in from day one so the business case survives contact with reality.

How we approach cloud & infrastructure

01

Assessment and migration strategy

Application-by-application analysis of what should be rehosted, replatformed, refactored or retired. Not everything deserves the same treatment, and some workloads shouldn't move at all.

02

Landing zone and governance

Account structure, network topology, identity, tagging standards and guardrails established before workloads arrive — because retrofitting governance across a populated estate is dramatically more expensive.

03

Migration execution

Phased, reversible migrations with defined rollback points. Business continuity is a constraint on the plan, not a risk we accept.

04

DevOps and platform automation

Infrastructure-as-code, automated pipelines and self-service environments so teams ship without waiting on tickets.

05

FinOps and optimisation

Continuous rightsizing, commitment planning and cost attribution by team and service, so spend is visible to the people who can act on it.

What you get

Every engagement is scoped to what you actually need. These are the deliverables that typically make up a cloud & infrastructure programme.

  • Cloud readiness assessment and migration roadmap
  • Landing zone with identity, network and security baseline
  • Migration execution with rollback planning
  • Infrastructure-as-code across all environments
  • CI/CD pipelines and automated environment provisioning
  • Cost monitoring, tagging strategy and FinOps practice
  • Runbooks, monitoring and SRE handover

What changes for the business

Environments that took weeks to provision take minutes. Infrastructure scales with demand instead of with procurement cycles. Cloud spend becomes attributable and controllable. And the platform stops being a constraint on how fast product teams can move.

Cloud & Infrastructure: common questions

Which cloud provider should we use?

It depends on your existing estate, commercial agreements, regulatory constraints and where your team's skills already sit. We're certified across AWS, Azure and GCP and run multi-cloud where it's genuinely warranted — though for most organisations, a primary provider with deliberate exceptions is the more economical answer.

How do you minimise downtime during migration?

Phased migration with parallel running, data replication ahead of cutover, and defined rollback points at each phase. For most workloads we achieve cutover inside a planned maintenance window; for the ones that can't take downtime, we design for zero-downtime cutover explicitly.

Can you reduce our existing cloud bill?

Usually, yes. Rightsizing, commitment coverage, storage tiering and eliminating orphaned resources typically find meaningful savings in estates that haven't been actively managed. We start with an assessment so the number we quote is based on your actual usage.

Do you provide ongoing managed services?

Yes — monitoring, incident response, patching and continuous optimisation under an agreed SLA, for clients who'd rather not build that capability internally.
