Decisions made on current data, not last month's report.
TechKTM builds the data platforms, pipelines and analytics layers that turn scattered operational data into something the business can actually make decisions with — engineered to hold up under real load and real query volume.
Why organisations with plenty of data still can't answer basic questions
The usual pattern: every system has its own database, three teams have built their own extracts, and nobody agrees what "active customer" means. Two dashboards give different numbers for the same metric and both are technically correct, so leadership stops trusting either.
Meanwhile the reporting that does exist is retrospective. By the time a number reaches a slide, the window to act on it has closed. Analysts spend most of their time assembling data rather than interpreting it.
Fixing this is mostly an engineering and governance problem, not a tooling problem. Buying another BI licence does not resolve a definitional disagreement about what a customer is.
How we approach data & analytics
Data architecture and modelling
A warehouse or lakehouse designed around how the business actually asks questions, with a semantic layer that makes one metric mean one thing everywhere.
Pipeline engineering
Reliable, monitored, tested ingestion from source systems — batch or streaming as the use case requires — with data quality checks that fail loudly rather than silently corrupting downstream reports.
Governance and lineage
Clear ownership, documented definitions, and lineage from dashboard back to source, so when a number looks wrong someone can actually trace why.
Analytics and self-service BI
Dashboards designed for decisions rather than decoration, plus a modelled layer that lets analysts answer new questions without an engineering ticket.
Operational and predictive analytics
Where it earns its place, we push analytics into the operational loop — forecasting, anomaly detection and decision support that acts on signals as they arrive.
What you get
Every engagement is scoped to what you actually need. These are the deliverables that typically make up a data & analytics programme.
- Data architecture and platform design
- Cloud data warehouse or lakehouse implementation
- Ingestion pipelines with quality monitoring
- Semantic layer and governed metric definitions
- Executive and operational dashboards
- Data catalogue, lineage and governance framework
- Analyst enablement and documentation
What changes for the business
One number means one thing across the organisation. Questions that took a week of analyst time get answered in an afternoon. And decisions that were previously made on instinct — inventory, staffing, pricing — start being made on evidence that's current enough to act on.
Data & Analytics: common questions
Snowflake, Databricks, or something else?
Snowflake tends to suit analytics-heavy warehousing workloads; Databricks suits organisations with significant ML and streaming requirements alongside analytics. For smaller estates, a well-designed cloud-native warehouse is often sufficient and considerably cheaper. We size the recommendation to your workload, not the other way round.
How long before we see usable dashboards?
We deliver in increments — a first governed dashboard on a priority domain usually lands within 6–8 weeks, with the platform maturing behind it. We deliberately avoid twelve-month platform programmes that produce nothing visible until the end.
What about data quality in our source systems?
It's usually worse than expected, and we'd rather surface that early. Our pipelines include quality checks that quarantine bad records rather than propagating them, and we report on source-system quality so the underlying issues can be fixed at origin.
Can this feed our AI initiatives?
That's typically the point. A governed data platform is the prerequisite for reliable AI — most stalled AI projects are actually stalled data projects. See our AI and intelligent automation services for how the two connect.
