Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Design and ship production systems end to end — TypeScript, React and Node — on engagements where you own the outcome, not a ticket queue.
About the role
You will work on client systems that are already carrying real load: replatforming a legacy application, building a new product surface, or untangling something that has grown past its original design. The work is varied by nature — consulting is a series of different problems rather than one product for five years.
We are deliberately senior-led. The engineer who designs a system stays on it through delivery, which means you will be in the architecture conversation and in the pull request. There is no layer of people between you and the client's technical team.
You will often be the most senior engineer in the room. That means explaining trade-offs to people who are not engineers, saying no to approaches that will not survive contact with production, and occasionally telling a client something they would rather not hear.
What you'll do
- Design and build full-stack features across TypeScript, React/Next.js and Node.js
- Own delivery of a workstream end to end — architecture, implementation, testing and handover
- Work directly with client engineering teams, transferring capability as the work ships
- Review code and raise the bar on what the team considers finished
- Make and document architectural decisions, including the ones you decided against
What we're looking for
- Six or more years building and operating production web systems
- Deep TypeScript, plus strong React and Node.js
- Comfort with relational data modelling and API design under real constraints
- Experience in at least one major cloud — AWS, Azure or GCP
- The judgement to know when the pragmatic solution is the right one
- Authorised to work in the United States without sponsorship
Nice to have
- Consulting or agency background
- Next.js App Router and React Server Components in production
- Experience modernising legacy systems incrementally rather than by rewrite
- Exposure to a regulated environment — financial services or healthcare
